The answer in plain English

AMC means asset management company. The fund house’s identity helps locate documents, service channels and its scheme range. Selecting an organisation is only the beginning: two schemes within the same house can have very different objectives, holdings, liquidity and risk. Likewise, a well-known banking brand does not turn its mutual funds into bank deposits.

What to check

  • Verify the official fund-house name and website through AMFI rather than a sponsored imitation link.
  • Identify the particular scheme, direct/regular plan and growth/distribution option.
  • Keep an alphabetical list separate from a ranking by AUM or return.
  • Check fund-house coverage and data dates when a research platform’s count differs from the official directory.

A useful comparison

Make the distinction clear

A useful way to use the directory is to choose a house, open its scheme range, and read two comparable mandates side by side. Do not buy several unrelated products simply to spread money across familiar logos. The relevant diversification is in underlying assets, sectors and risks. The directory below is a dated research aid; use the official source for subsequent changes.

Fund-house names: dated official-directory reference

The following 57 names were read from AMFI’s member-directory data on 17 October 2026. The order follows the directory and is not an AUM or performance ranking. Member-directory records, currently operating schemes and one research platform’s coverage can have different counts.

One final question before acting

Does the figure or document match the exact scheme, plan, option, period and purpose in your question? Keep the source date with the answer. For a real transaction or personal decision, the current scheme documents and your own records take priority over a saved educational example.
