Explained on 26 October 2026. This is an educational answer drawn from the dated article below; examples are hypothetical unless a specific source observation is identified.

How it works

Use the actual scheme, plan context and dated portfolio rather than a fund-house headline. Combine exposures on a consistent valuation basis where possible. The result can change when prices, quantities, scheme flows or your investment change, so a monthly disclosure is not a live execution record.

A simple example

A hypothetical ₹3 lakh investment in a fund with a 1.5% stock position gives ₹4,500 of look-through exposure. If total household investments are ₹30 lakh, that position represents 0.15% of the household denominator, before other direct or indirect holdings.

What to check

  • Match your scheme amount and the holdings date.
  • Convert the stock percentage correctly.
  • Add other exposures separately without double-counting.
