Explained on 26 October 2026. This is an educational answer drawn from the dated article below; examples are hypothetical unless a specific source observation is identified.
How it works
Underlying securities can have different trade frequency and depth. A fund also manages subscriptions, redemptions and cash under its mandate. The market-window change may provide flexibility to participants, but it does not certify that every asset can be sold instantly at its displayed valuation.
A simple example
A hypothetical scheme owns a thinly traded security during the extra hour. Without an acceptable counterparty quote, the timetable alone does not create an exit. The unitholder must still use the scheme’s actual redemption terms for a cash-flow plan.
What to check
- Read the scheme’s redemption and payout terms.
- Review actual portfolio liquidity and concentration.
- Do not convert platform hours into a payout guarantee.
