Explained on 26 October 2026. This is an educational answer drawn from the dated article below; examples are hypothetical unless a specific source observation is identified.
How it works
The amount allocated is more concrete than a broad expression of interest, but investors can still have different mandates, horizons and risk budgets. A small position for a large institution may be a concentrated bet for a household. Read the priced allocation documents alongside the prospectus rather than copy a familiar investor’s name.
A simple example
The Jio update records 7,24,74,066 anchor shares at ₹1,119 on 19 October 2026. That priced share count establishes the allocation value. It does not establish what any retail applicant will earn after listing.
What to check
- Check the allocation date, shares and price.
- Keep demand separate from actual shares assigned.
- Read the business and valuation evidence as well.
