Is MF Analyser free, and what do the paid plans actually cost?

Written by MF Analyser · last checked 6 October 2026

Researching funds is free — every scheme, returns, the core risk numbers, the calculators and comparison of up to three schemes. Pro is ₹340 a month and Advisor ₹800 a month. Portfolio analysis is bought per report, from ₹19. You buy the months you want and nothing renews on its own.

What costs nothing

A lot, and deliberately — the research side of the site is the part that should not be behind a wall:

  • Every Indian mutual fund scheme, on live AMFI NAV
  • Returns over every window, NAV history and the core risk numbers
  • Comparison of up to three schemes side by side
  • The SIP, lumpsum, SWP, XIRR and retirement calculators
  • Every category and fund-house page, and Fund Ranking
  • These Learn pages
  • Reading your CAS — the statement is parsed and your holdings shown without paying anything

The plans

PlanPriceWhat it adds
Free₹0Everything above. Compare 3 schemes.
Pro₹340/monthCompare 6 schemes; all 39 metrics in the table; the full Research tab; the screener across every scheme; holdings, overlap and the monthly portfolio changes; Portfolio Builder
Advisor₹800/monthEverything in Pro, plus Portfolio Builder with your own metrics and thresholds, run across every scheme at once, saved reusable templates, and export

The 39 is a real count, not a round number: the comparison table defines exactly 39 columns, and you toggle whichever you want.

One thing not to over-promise. Four Advisor features — branded PDF reports, access for your employees, branded recommendations and storage for up to 500 clients — are still being rolled out on this site. They run in the adviser workspace today. If you need them now, ask and they are set up directly.

Portfolio analysis is bought per report, not per month

It is priced separately because it is the expensive part to run, and because most people want it once rather than monthly:

LevelPriceWhat it answers
Snapshot₹19What you hold and how it is split
Deep₹39The portfolio's own return, risk and drawdown
Complete₹49Look-through: the companies, sectors and overlap
Workspace₹99Rebalancing, saved reports and exports
Firm₹999/monthUnlimited client portfolios, for advisory firms

Moving up a level later costs the difference plus ₹5, never the full price again. A saved report can be re-run as often as you like at no further charge and cannot be deleted.

How billing works

You choose how many months you want and pay for them once. Nothing renews automatically. No card is stored on this site — payments go through the gateway, and MF Analyser never sees your card details. The amount shown is the amount charged; nothing is added at the end.

Because nothing auto-renews, "cancelling" mostly means not buying more months. You can also cancel from your account or by email, and the period you have already paid for stays intact. The refund terms are published, including a full refund if you cancel within 7 days without using a paid feature.

Where the money comes from, and where it does not

MF Analyser earns from subscriptions and per-report purchases. It does not earn commission from AMCs or distributors, and you cannot buy a fund here. That is a pricing fact with an editorial consequence: because no fund pays to be on the site, there is no "recommended funds" list and no incentive to produce one.

It also means the free tier is genuinely free rather than a funnel into a commission — the thing being sold is the depth, not the fund.

Is it worth paying for?

An honest framing instead of a sales pitch. Free is enough if you are checking a fund or two and want returns, risk numbers and a comparison. Paying is worth it when you need the things free cannot do: six schemes at once with all 39 metrics, screening the whole universe on your own filters, and looking through funds to the holdings, overlap and monthly portfolio changes.

Advisor is for somebody running the same analysis repeatedly to their own rules — the value is the reuse, not extra data.

And if what you actually want is to be told which fund to buy, no plan here does that. MF Analyser is not a SEBI-registered Investment Adviser or Research Analyst. Paying more does not unlock a recommendation, because there isn't one.

Also asked

Is there a free trial of Pro?

The free tier is permanent rather than a countdown, which covers most research. Plans are bought by the month, so the smallest commitment is one month rather than a year.

Do I need an account to use the free features?

Not for the first stretch of browsing each day. An account is needed to keep anything — saved comparisons, portfolios or reports — and for anything paid.

Why is portfolio analysis priced separately from Pro?

Because it is work done on your statement rather than access to pages already built, and most people want it occasionally. Buying one report at ₹19 beats a monthly plan you use twice a year.

Does MF Analyser take commission from fund houses?

No. You cannot buy a fund here and no AMC pays for placement. Income is subscriptions and per-report purchases only, which is why there is no "recommended" list.

MF Analyser is not a SEBI-registered Investment Adviser or Research Analyst. Nothing above is advice or a recommendation to buy or sell anything. Every figure is arithmetic on AMFI's published NAV and the portfolios the AMCs file. Mutual fund investments are subject to market risks; read all scheme related documents carefully.
